Project Concept

An award winning project, with transformation from a single-storey to a two-and-a-half-storey intermediate linked house, reflecting the power of minimalist design in maximising spatial utility. The architecture preserves the neighbourhood’s aesthetic by extruding the existing structure to double its height, adhering to the local skyline.

The house inverts typical layouts, placing semi-private spaces like the living and dining areas on the upper level and bedrooms on the ground, emphasising a clear distinction between private and communal spaces. The mezzanine, catering to the family’s active lifestyle, includes features like mini rock climbing, while the high sloped ceiling contributes to a sense of spaciousness.

With design choices such as full-height glass door panels for natural light and ventilation, and the house overlooks TTDI Park, offering serene views. Modern industrial interiors with a brutalist flair, mainly in bare concrete and cement, fulfill the owners’ vision and ensure easy maintenance. Unique elements like a slide beside the staircase add fun dimensions, embodying the essence of an adventurous family living. In essence, this renovation champions harmonising aesthetic beauty with personalised, functional design in urban living.
