Project Concept
The development comprises of a 4-storey Administrative Office Block, a Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) Centre, a Steel Fabrication Yard and a Storage Warehouse with an opened container yard; aims to facilitate the core business of the corporation in oil and gas sector.
With the awareness of green architecture in mind and its impact onto the environment, the 4-storey Administrative Office Block was enhanced to meet the green building rating, in this case, Green Building Index Certified level at least.
The building facade features series of vertical aluminium box louvres adopting the company corporate colours, not only shading the windows but adding the visual interest. Different spacing of the louvres and colours set up a deeply textured and dynamic cadence, complementing the building’s otherwise neutral and muted tones. Having the solid wall, aluminium composite panel box-up and clean curtain wall incorporated, the construction represents an amiable mix of strength and gentleness to the frontage.
The Main Reception is enhanced with double-volumed space and an opened courtyard next to it, inviting volume with high ceiling and high glazing that floods the space with natural light. The courtyard offers sense of serenity that can bring a tremendous pleasure to the office users. By incorporating the landscaping, the area seems like a private oasis that allows connection to the outdoors. The office spaces wrap around the oasis, visually connected through the glazed windows.
Seemingly random arrangement of light grey and red/blue corrugated metal panels forms an interesting pixilated fragment at both ends of the factory building.
